Giant Puppets, Asylum Hill Congregational Church, Hartford, CT- Wings and Things, A community arts project inviting Asylum Hill residents and members of Asylum Hill Church to design masks, wings and giant puppets, using recycled materials, to be paraded in the neighborhood and showcased at the Sigourney Square Family Festival.

DIRT, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford, CT - Commissioned theatrical performance - I coauthored and created the giant puppets, animations, costumes, masks, props and sets for this "earthy" themed performance.

Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH - Parade the Circle: an annual art parade attended by 70,000 people - I was commissioned by CMA and using recycled materials made 2 giant dung beetles and a 8' diameter dung ball which housed the goddess of the dump.

Giant Puppets, Asylum Hill Congregational Church, Hartford, CT- I received $10,000 from The Greater Hartford Arts Council's Neighborhood Arts & Heritage Grant for this community arts project inviting Asylum Hill residents and members of Asylum Hill Church to design masks and giant puppets, using recycled materials, to be paraded in the neighborhood and showcased at the Sigourney Square Family Festival.

Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH - Parade The Circle: an annual art parade attended by 70,000 people- I was commissioned by CMA and made the Rusty Red Hot Rolling Circus a 10' long float, of spinning devils and angels with cam driven figures dancing over the flames of hell, using recycled materials.

FIRE, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford, CT - Commissioned theatrical performance - I coauthored and created the giant puppets, costumes, masks, shadow puppets, props and sets for this "passions of fire" themed performance.

Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH - Parade the Circle: an annual art parade attended by 70,000 people - I was commissioned by CMA and made the Hippogriph, a giant legendary creature, using recycled materials, with a horse body, bird head and wings who's limbs, head and wings were articulated.

WHOOSH, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford, CT- Commissioned theatrical performance - I coauthored and created the giant puppets, burrokeets, floats, costumes, props and sets for this 'airy" themed performance.

Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH - Parade the Circle: an annual art parade attended by 70,000 people - I was commissioned by CMA and made 3 large bird burrokeets which transformed into angels en route along with a 15 foot long worm-eating bird float.

Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH - Parade the Circle: an annual art parade attended by 70,000 people - I was commissioned by CMA and made 20 foot float, carrying an 8' high skeletal figure representing the earth, using recycled bicycles, wood, drift wood and paper clay.

Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH - Parade the Circle: an annual art parade attended by 70,000 people - I was commissioned by CMA and made The Goddess la Pubelle, a 15' tall rolling skeletal figure bearing the refuse of our society in her giant skirts.

Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH - Parade the Circle: an annual art parade attended by 70,000 people - I was commissioned by CMA and made Scottie an 8' H x16' L automated skeletal dog with a churning belly, snapping jaw and wagging tail using recycled materials including 2 bicycles.

Teaching/Workshops/Residencies

Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA , Trash Menagerie exhibition - led opening day art activities for the donor breakfast and public sculpture classes using discarded materials (adults & children).

2008-2010

University of Connecticut, The Community School of The Arts, Storrs, CT- Led 2 (1) week long Summer arts programs where students design and stage a performance along with props, costumes, music and dialogue. (ages 6 - 14)

2007-2009

Asylum Hill Congregational Church, Hartford, CT- I have led multiple classes for children and adults in the AHCC community including sculpture, masks, giant puppets, shadow puppets and performance.

2003-2010

Aldrich Museum, Ridgefield, CT- I have taught 14 one-week art classes for children including kinetic sculpture, tape art, performance, giant puppets, story telling and mask making (ages 4 - 14)

2007

Artist in Residence, Kingswood-Oxford School, West Hartford, CT- A one month residency, I worked with 2 high school classes who designed and staged a performance inspired by a piece of music written by a fellow student including props, costumes, lighting and choreography. I also worked with 2 middle school classes who created a parade performance including a giant puppet, costumes, banners, music and dance.

2006-2007

Artist in Residence, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford, CT- A one year residency during which I taught adults a series of drawing classes in the galleries and sculpture classes for children

2005-2007

Gan Israel Summer Camp, West Hartford, CT- For 3 Summers I led a students in creating a performance based on a religious story. Students created the script, costumes, props and lighting. (ages 4 - 14)

2005-2006

Cranbury School, Norwalk, CT- a 3 week residency, I worked with the entire school (grades K - 5) in which each class made a component of 8 flying giant puppets, using recycled materials, which culminated in a school-wide gathering and parade. The puppets represented characters from a book (that all the students read) which dealt with the issues of diversity.

2005

Pomerene Art Center, Coshocton, OH- A one week residency where I worked with 8 different elementary school classes. The students created undersea creatures from recycled materials. I created a float carrying all the creatures and the students marched with it in a local parade. (ages 8 - 12)

2004-2005

University of Hartford, Hartford, CT - Equinox Madness - For 2 years I taught a community art class. The student had 6 weeks to create a performance for Parent's Weekend. The students created the script, costumes, props, masks, music, lighting, choreography and giant puppets using 90 % discarded materials. Students engaged the university community for advertising, finding performers and tech support as well as engage the employees and students in free weekend giant puppet workshop. The event culminated in a community parade and performance.

2003-2005

Castle Hill Art Center, Truro, MA - For 3 summers I taught a one week giant puppet class. The students created giant puppets using recycled material and marched in the Carnival parade in Provincetown. (ages 7 - 60)

2001

New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain, CT- For one month I worked with 5 different groups (families and after-school programs) who created sculpture from recycled materials. Each group had a goal (land, sea, air and totem) and the project culminated in an installation I designed in the museum and totem pole in front of the museum using the works created by the groups.
